Superfoods are foods high in nutrients that provide lots of benefits which can boost your academic performance.

The processed foods are unlikely to help your brain as they are often high in unhealthy saturated and trans fats as well as preservatives. These foods make it difficult for your brain to function properly, hence they can negatively impact your mental performance.

Here you have a list of foods which are inexpensive, delicious and extremely good to power up your brain:

Plain Greek Yogurt or Kefir

Plain Greek yogurt is super-high in protein. It has almost twice as much protein than a regular yogurt.

It is also considered a high-calcium dairy food, which is linked to belly fat reduction.

Mix it with sugar-free granola, nuts or a fruit for a nutrient filled snack or meal.

Blueberries

It is said that blueberries are one of the healthiest foods on Earth as they have disease-fighting antioxidants. They help ward off cancer, cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer.

Beans

Beans, the more you eat the more you lower your cholesterol.  They will make you fill fuller faster and are a great source of protein to build muscle for everyone (but specially for vegans).

They are also high in antioxidants, which are linked to reducing your risk of Parkinson, Alzheimer and cancer. So basically beans are a true superhero food! Plus, they are inexpensive and generally available all year round.

Broccoli

Broccoli seems to protect your brain against age-related memory loss and it is also a disease-fighting veggie.

Eggs

Eating eggs in a regular way can help improve your memory. They are one of the best sources of choline, an important neurotransmitter associated to the ability to form new memories.

Walnuts

Often avoided for their high fat content, walnuts have healthy fats, minerals, fiber and disease-fighting vitamins and minerals.

Their antioxidants may reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases.
